TCDC

I have had a rather meaningful day. and a day that I wanted since long ago. It was just as short as 2 hours time in Thailand Creative & Design Center.

cafe @ the entrance

full of pretty stuffs

motifs at the reception

i have drown myself into the sea of books. especially books about jewelery design.

it is not just a library, they have a tv room, where you can watch collection of dvds they have. and something even cooler! a material room, which a visitor does not have an access - a room where you make your idea "materialized", make it come into real life.

how good if we have it here too!

forgot to ...

BBC. how can i forgot to blog about this. this is true. yes i forgot to blog about this.

I have prepared the screen shots of the site on 5th of March, almost a month.

the first adjustable layout site that i have encountered, other than facebook. netvibes - a good place for you to remember everything that you can't remember, safe, will not be lost in your life time.

customizing colours of the site, it is not a big thing, but it is really nice to have. reading news is not a boring thing after all.

personalizing website layout is definitely a big leap to the web culture.

drink coke. hug coke.

on the coke side of life. nothing much I can talk about, I'm just doing some research.

Welcome to the coke side of life - it has been launched since 2006.
"It's a simple idea, really. Drinking a Coke makes people happy. It tastes good. And it's an invitation to live on the positive side of life. That's the message behind 'The Coke Side of Life,' a new global marketing platform for brand Coca-Cola, which launches in the U.S. this week and in other markets over the next several months."

"We live in a world where we make choices every day and The Coke Side of Life encourages people to make those choices positive ones," said Marc Mathieu, senior vice president for carbonated soft drink core brands, Marketing, Strategy and Innovation, The Coca-Cola Company. "This new campaign invites people to create their own positive reality, to be spontaneous, listen to their hearts and live in full color."

"Coca-Cola has always brought people together. Each of these 'Coke Side of Life' ads is about friends and families connecting and sharing," said Katie Bayne, chief marketing officer, Coca-Cola North America. "There is now considerable research that shows the tangible benefits of sharing meals together. We understand and believe in the value of coming together -- during the holidays and every day."

football on the coke side of life
Coca-Cola - an official sponsor of UEFA EURO 2008™ - has announced its management team for the tournament in Austria and Switzerland. The team, headed by general manager Frank van der Heijden, will grow into a family of several hundred people by the time the championship takes place in two summers' time.

The Coca-Cola Company has supported international football for more than 70 years, and is one of UEFA's longest-standing partners, having been an official sponsor of the UEFA European Championship since 1988.

and to hype the event, the campaign ideas should be as interesting or more interesting as these "virals" videos or more than just video

Came across some interesting websites:
It's nice that
Group Hug - Register with Group Hug to use those nice little HUG and SHRUG buttons over there. That’s how we figure out which confessions to put on the front page.

metamorphosis dance concert poster

The committee commented that the previous design is for kindergarten kids performance. I was kind of speechless in the beginning. "something black or grey or brown?". All right that is what they meant by cool.

For me, metamorphosis is suppose to be the beginning of life and new look!
Was it suppose to be mysterious and dull?
I thought this is what they wanted, but after a while i changed my mind and made some changes on it.

I am not sure if you can see 2 people morphing into butterfly / vice versa. Just make sure you think it's cool ( for secondary school performance )

I don't want to complain, but people are just taking things for granted. I m working up til 2am in the morning. I want to quit.

this is the last time! no more!

i knew it. tired... need some rest

dance performance poster

As i promised to design a poster for my sister's co-curriculum dance concert / show.
here is the first complete draft, hopefully they will not need me to change it later on.

the concept is butterfly morphing into people and these group of people are the dancers presenting the performance.

your skin is your canvas

at first, I thought it would be some campaign about some anti-racist thing. After so much effort of putting people together, it is to tell us that our skin is amazing?

"Your skin is your canvas: it shows how active you are. The scars from when you are four tell the tale of how you've lived your life"

"Our skin is the most important thing we have. It's our biggest organ. Care for it the way you would care for anything else. Eat healthily, drink water and protect your skin."

Guess who?

However, I feel that the art direction of the ad is very nice, enjoyed how they shot the skin so close that I could see the beauty of human skin. The site is too simple and not too amazing. :P

live on the coke side of argh! ... almost there

I was very mad at the verification of the security code. argh! I spent almost 1 hour from that canvas to... one step close to my wallpaper.

As I was looking for some therapy, to balance my disturbance from what I have been suffering with. Came to this site, that I thought I can cure my emotion.

nicely done

security letters incorrect

I want my piece of artwork! The name of my artwork was supposed to be called "Alive".

Took this picture about a year ago in Auckland, I am not sure if it had not been completed. Have a look.

DMAM

DMAM - idea is king - second awards night that I have been to. It was a good experience, such as the crowd and the works are mostly result oriented.

I am glad that I had the chance to share the award winning experience with my company. That was a boost for me to work harder for what I am doing and for the company.

The first rank winner was Arc Worldwide Malaysia (Leo Burnett), followed by Ogilvy One - one of the best art direction piece - Levi's - halflives. While silver goes to "Tan Hong Ming in love". (I was trying to explain to myself that, why is that in the Best Art Direction category) - Nevertheless, it is a very cute and sweet national day television commercial for our multiracial society, so is the art direction being judged on catching audiences hearts instead of the post production and execution? Perhaps, it should be Best Film Direction? so, film is also art...

Percintaan Tan Hong Ming

Nice? let's read some notes from the maker - Yasmin.

Our work - Soh Hem Sem won a silver for Best Web Sales & Promotion and bronze for Best Use of Web!

{ this is what we call CREATIVE }

read more aboutOne said this before : " Limitation is the soil where creativity grows ". Agree? We are being limited with what we have, we are not afford to use the earth source as much as we like. Look at how people put efforts on reuse, reduce & recycle. What do we do everyday for this ? That we should put our hands together to work out for our beloved Earth.

"Bamboo baskets used to pack onions were piling up like a small hill in front of the supermarket next to New Art Studio in Sungai Buloh.
Watching the rubbish mount, artist Soh Mok Tan felt the obligation to do something about it and decided to use the baskets in his art classes... " ( The Star )
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come on people. Do something. Limitation is not an excuse for not being creative.
